91Âé¶¹ÌìÃÀ Progress, Impact, Access and Accountability Committee of the Board
The PIAA Committee provides strategic guidance to the 91Âé¶¹ÌìÃÀ Board of Directors and CEO, recommending the most optimal structure and coordination for activities to ensure accountability to and maximum impact of the Society’s Core Values. The PIAA Committee works to create a community in which all members of the microbial sciences community can contribute to, flourish in and shape innovation and the future of the field.
91Âé¶¹ÌìÃÀ Subcommittee on the Status of Women in Microbiology (SSWiM)
SSWiM leads programmatic efforts and initiatives dedicated to progress, impact, access and accountability (PIAA). Together the PIAA Committee and SSWiM work in unison to ensure progress, impact, access and accountability are elevated, embodied and embraced within 91Âé¶¹ÌìÃÀ and throughout the microbial sciences.
91Âé¶¹ÌìÃÀ Subcommittee on Maximizing Opportunities Through Education
The Subcommittee on Maximizing Opportunities Through Education’s vision is to foster a more diverse scientific workforce. The committee aims to increase the community who bring an array of diverse perspectives and experiences to the microbial sciences. Key constituents include, undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral scientists and faculty.

SSHEG leads programmatic efforts and initiatives dedicated to progress, impact, access and accountability (PIAA). Together the PIAA Committee and SSHEG work in unison to ensure progress, impact, access and accountability are elevated, embodied and embraced within 91Âé¶¹ÌìÃÀ and throughout the microbial sciences.
MicroBio-LEAP Task Force
The MicroBio-LEAP Task Force functions to drive the success of the grant funded project supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The MicroBio-LEAP Task Force works in collaboration with the 91Âé¶¹ÌìÃÀ Progress, Impact and Access and Accountability Committee to guide and lead this project.
