Scientific Content Requirements for The 91Â鶹ÌìÃÀ Applied & Environmental Microbiology Meeting Abstracts

  • The reason for the study or how the study came about (e.g. hypothesis, discovery or central question) should be clearly stated.
  • The objective and experimental design should be briefly detailed.
  • Data must be objectively gathered, analyzed and reported.
  • Conclusion(s) or inferences should be made and supported by data. The study does not need to be fully complete, and preliminary results and conclusions are acceptable (the standard to present at 91Â鶹ÌìÃÀ Microbe is not the same as to publish in a journal).
  • Abstracts describing biological data on an antimicrobial agent whose chemical structure has not been defined should be submitted to the 91Â鶹ÌìÃÀ Health Meeting.
Scientific presentations at 91Â鶹ÌìÃÀ Microbe 2026 will be expected to transparently report a study’s scientific rigor to ensure that the study is well-controlled and reproducible. Elements of scientific rigor should include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Experimental design.
  • Data collection and analysis.
  • Interpretation and inferences of the results.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Chatbots or Large Language Models (LLMs)

Authors are required to disclose any use of AI tools (e.g., for language editing, data analysis or content generation). AI or LLMs cannot be credited as authors. All submitted work must be original. The use of AI-generated content is prohibited, unless it's reviewed and verified by the authors for accuracy and appropriateness. Content that lacks sufficient human oversight and validation will not be accepted.

Decisions of the program committee are final. Abstracts submitted under the ‘Oral or Poster’ presentation preference are not guaranteed an oral presentation assignment. Abstracts not selected for oral presentation will be assigned as posters.
